Fauci calls for shutdown of foreign 'wet markets' linked to disease outbreaks

A growing chorus of voices is urging China to shut down the country's so-called wet markets, which have come under heightened scrutiny for their role as potent breeding grounds for devastating outbreaks such as the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Some experts believe Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, first began spreading in a wet market in Wuhan, the city in China's central province of Hubei where the virus originally emerged. Story continuesSen. Lindsey Graham has also called for the shuttering of wet markets in China, sending a letter Thursday to Beijing's ambassador to the U.S. demanding their"immediate closure ... for the safety of the world at large."

China claims U.S. is 'slandering' Beijing with report on coronavirus cover-up, calls Trump administration 'inhumane'China has been accused of silencing whistle-blowers and covering up the scale of infections and deaths inside the country. Here you have a country who enslaves Muslims and you’re giving them a platform of calling other countries inhumane? Really? I'll go with China on this!
