Haiti is 'imploding,' and the time for international intervention has come, an expert told us.

For the U.S., that likely means only financial support. Sagás said there’s no appetite for American boots on the ground in Haiti, especially with Ukraine and Israel demanding our attention and our presidential campaign season kicking into high gear.The country’s institutions are on the verge of collapse and its residents are struggling for survival, the U.N. says.

And American troops returned in the 1990s to help the democratically elected president who had been ousted by the military.
