You would think the downgrade to dwarf planet would have caused Pluto to clear its neighboring region of other objects if it really wanted to be a planet. Pluto has made up its mind.

Only if we set a standard for what a 'Planet' is. Pluto is free orbiting, there are other objects that are larger that are free orbiting. If they make Pluto one again Eris should be too as well as Ceres which is slightly saller. What size = a planet vs 'object'?
