frontman Shifty Shellshock, whose real name was Seth Binzer, died yesterday at his Los Angeles home at the age of 49, according to the Los Angeles county Medical Examiner’s office. No further details have been revealed.
Shellshock is best-known as the voice behind the 2000 hit “Butterfly,” which was built on sample of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Pretty Little Ditty.” The track spent two non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the“Not only does Crazy Town boast the band member with the best nu-metal name, but the group also turned in the movement’s most prominent love song,”of “Butterfly’ in a 2017 recap of the 30 best nu-metal songs.
