SAN DIEGO — San Diego Sheriff's deputies are searching for a suspect in Spring Valley after finding a woman dead from gunshot wounds inside a home on La Presa Avenue on Tuesday just after 10:30 am.
San Diego Sheriff's Homicide Lieutenant Mike Krugh said deputies were called to a house on the 800 block of La Presa Avenue after a family member called 911 and reported a disturbance. As deputies were on their way, the call was upgraded to a break in. Deputies forced entry into the residence after there was no answer at the front door and found a woman severely injured lying on the couch with what Lt. Krugh stated was trauma to the upper body. The victim was nonresponsive.Lt. Krugh told CBS 8 that there is a person of interest in the case, however, no arrests have been made in the killing and there is no danger to the public.Late Tuesday afternoon, deputies were waiting for the medical examiner to arrive and for search warrants to go in.
