A Shelby County woman has been charged with a federal crime amid accusations she embezzled at least $550,000 from her employer and the homeowners’ associations managed.
Statham worked as a bookkeeper for Rouland Management Services from 2006 until 2021, records show. According to charging documents, between January 2018 and August 2021, she made unauthorized transfers of funds from an RMS bank account and the bank accounts from at least 10 HOAs she managed to her personal account.
Statham, prosecutors contend, used the ill-gotten gains to pay for her personal expenses including, but not limited to, gambling online and at casinos.
