Several areas in West Virginia experienced damage due to severe thunderstorms, including downed trees, power lines, and property damage. A historic building in Nicholas County was also damaged during the storms.

Damage has been reported all afternoon and into the evening following a line of severe thunderstorms moving through parts of West Virginia . Several accounts of downed trees and power lines were reported across the area, which led to thousands of customers without power. In other areas, homes and cars were damaged by trees, signs and billboards that were blown over by strong wind gusts.

A historic building dating back to the late 1800s was among the structures damaged during severe storms in Nicholas County. The Irish Corner One Room School, which was relocated to Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park as a museum and housed local history, books and records, was damaged during storms Tuesday, according to county commissioner Garrett Cole, who added, he was unsure if the building can be saved.Then, about 30 minutes later, people in Kanawha County began reporting damage, including downed trees and power lines
