NEW YORK - Seven police officers were suspended Thursday over the arrest and asphyxiation death of Black man Daniel Prude in Rochester, New York after video of the March incident was released, the city’s mayor said, calling it an act of racism.
The Monroe County medical examiner ruled Prude’s death a homicide caused by “complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint,” according to an autopsy report, the New York Times reported. “Institutional and structural racism led to Daniel Prude’s death. I won’t deny it, I stand before it, and I call for justice upon it,” Warren said.
Rochester police chief La’Ron Singletary, who is Black, told reporters on Wednesday that internal and criminal investigations were underway. The office of New York Attorney General Letitia James is investigating, as state law requires whenever police are involved in a civilian’s death.In the video, an officer placed a “spit hood” over Prude’s head. Prude could be heard shouting, “Take this...off my face!” and “You’re trying to kill me!” before his shouts turned to cries and became muffled. Officers were heard saying “Calm down” and “stop spitting.

The video conveniently left out the parts that he was high on PCP/Angel Dust, he asked for the hood, spit hoods don’t kill people they are breathable, Being restrained for two minutes doesn’t kill people. PCP kills people.
Underlying disease can tell the truth. I don’t think just Those mandatory arrest could not cause people died.
Is it a trap for the police? You called police to apprehend someone who obviously not stable, who spit on everyone , then blame the police for his death? Why not called mental institute or fire department?

What was the cause of death? What caused the asphyxiation, if that was the cause? You can't yell if you don't get oxygen. Was CO2 buildup the cause? Some other medical reason? The information about the cause of death in many of these cases is puzzling, sometimes even plain odd.
