The number of newborns in South Korea born in 2023 was almost eight percent lower than in the year before. In response to the low birth rate, the government of conservative President Yoon Suk-yeol has prioritized top-down programs incentivizing the building of families. South Korea’s second spy satellite was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Sunday evening local time, which was Monday morning in Seoul. South Korea’s Defense Ministry said in a statement that the satellite was successfully separated from a rocket.
