during a brief news conference during the Senate impeachment trial of U.S. President Donald Trump.: Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for the coronavirus, making him the third member of Congress to become infected with the disease.

Paul said he is asymptomatic, but was tested out of an abundance of caution “due to his extensive travel and events.” He is not aware of any direct contact with an infected person, further crystalizing how the disease is spreading throughout the community. Paul’s office began working remotely 10 days ago, so “virtually no staff has had contact with Senator Rand Paul,” he said.
