WASHINGTON - U.S. Democratic presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand on Wednesday proposed requiring insurance companies to cover expensive fertility treatments, part of a “Family Bill of Rights” that would also help with adoption and medical care.

“My new proposal, the Family Bill of Rights, will make all families stronger - regardless of who you are or what your zip code is - with a fundamental set of rights that levels the playing field starting at birth,” Gillibrand said in a statement. Gillibrand said she would require health insurance companies to cover costly treatments like in vitro fertilization which most plans currently do not cover.

Not pandering to the right people Heard that she was 1% in most of the polls. How much more will she embarrass herself before dropping out

Everything should be free.

In that case, we might have to expand the scope of insurance policies to cover men's bedroom problems, such as low sperm count, erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation. Women stand to benefit when these issues are eradicated in men.

NO! We need to quit breeding ourselves cause we can't feed us all!

I don’t want to work and still be a billionaire. Ain’t happening

Well the government pays for viagra

Can’t you just use your $600 in “democracy dollars” or whatever the hell it was towards IVF? (Spoiler Alert: There are already quite a few insurance programs that cover fertility treatments.)

'Insurance' doesn't pay for anything. It 'covers' things. Policyholders pay for the coverages. In other words, she is advocating FORCING policyholders to pay for this even if they do not want it. Another bad idea.

Already happening in Massachusetts.

Kirsten Gillibrand's 2020 campaign — and is urging others to do the same It's nice to see this kind of unity. JoeBiden and PeteButtigieg's campaigns have also been operating in respectfully towards other Dems. The only campaign that isn't is BernieSanders - imagine that.🙄Both he and his followers are ripping other Dems with inpunity. Why don’t you trust voters to sort this out. They clearly aren’t interested in Gillibrand. Why force her on us? She will take up valuable time from other candidates we prefer to hear from. 'Her perspective' stabbed Al Franken in the back, one of her many sad, self-serving moments.
