Security line at Sea-Tac Airport reaches 2.5 hours long, wrapping inside parking garage

We missed our flight and delta is not helping because TSA is not their problem. We were here 2.5 hours early for a domestic flight with no checked bags 😡😡😡According to a TSA spokesperson, all security lines were merged into a single queue, and once travelers reached the terminal, they were redirected to individual checkpoints.

The spokesperson said 24 of 29 screening lanes were open, and the two that are closed were due to equipment malfunction. The other three are part of the international arrivals. Why such a huge discrepancy between what passengers are reporting and what TSA and SeaTacAirport airport officials are declaring? If anyone has to wait in a line that snakes into the parking garage, forget about making your flight- even if you are 3 hours early! Embarrassing!

The article's title is not true: the security line was 90 minutes long, not 2.5 hours. How did this get by the fact checkers? There was one person who *arrived* 2.5 hours early to the building. That doesn't mean the security line took all of the 2.5 hours.

At SeaTac now, precheck line took 15 minutes to get through

What about TSA precheck and or first class? Same long line or no?

I’ve been waiting for this to happen. Many times when fly, I am amazed at the inefficiency of the security checkpoints management. This is an example of the ineptness of the TSA and the programs that allow folks to skip the line more like line jumping.

Welcome to cruise ship season! This is how it was pre covid. Make sure to arrive 2+ hours early and if you can check 72 hours before you fly and make a reservation for security .
