Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., speaks during a House Judiciary subcommittee on antitrust on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, in Washington. WASHINGTON — A second Democratic member of the House who was forced to go into lockdown during last week’s siege at the U.S. Capitol has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Too many Republicans have refused to take this pandemic and virus seriously, and in doing so, they endanger everyone around them,” Jayapal said. “Only hours after President Trump incited a deadly assault on our Capitol, our country, and our democracy, many Republicans still refused to take the bare minimum COVID-19 precaution and simply wear a damn mask in a crowded room during a pandemic."of New Jersey said Monday that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
Some members of Congress huddled for hours in the large room, while others were there for a shorter period. “Additionally, any Member who refuses to wear a mask should be immediately removed from the floor by the Sergeant at Arms. This is not a joke,” she said. “Our lives and our livelihoods are at risk, and anyone who refuses to wear a mask should be fully held accountable for endangering our lives because of their selfish idiocy.”
Yahoo Just hear to say that I still need my password reset but they will not help me. Literally use my yahoo for everything like my VA benefits. I offered to get the tech support and still they won’t reset my password. For some reason only way to verify my ID is a old phone number.
Why not criticize those who allowed a covid positive person on the house floor on 1/3 to vote on house speaker
How shameful it is that the elected members of the House refuse to wear masks simply because their leader says so? They forget that wearing masks is their civil responsibility to save others from infection.
Rep Jayapal is the best. I hope she recovers quickly.
