On April 19, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to the 10000 block of Twin Circles in Montgomery, regarding someone who was found dead. Members of the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team also assisted, suspecting the individual had died from an overdose. It was later confirmed that Tyler Gengo died from the toxic effects of fentanyl.
Cormier was identified as the supplier of the fentanyl and has now been charged with a second count of murder, while already in custody for a previous Fentanyl-related death.Since 2019, MOCONET and the Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area have been addressing fentanyl trafficking in Montgomery County. Under House Bill 6, enacted on September 1, 2023, individuals can be charged with “fentanyl murder” if their distribution leads to death.
