The school district says it has been consulting with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and they all agree students will be better off in school.

Jenkintown Police Chief Albert DiValentino Reflects On More Than 30-Year Career After RetiringThey say only a small fraction of cases they’ve seen so far this school year resulted from in-school spread.

“We’ve had our testing sites open all week so that people know what their status is. And that if they do turn out to be positive they will do the necessary steps to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. We’ve very confident that we can have our students and staff return to in-person learning on Tuesday,” school district spokesperson Monica Lewis said.

Why is every other district going back to home Schooling, even colleges . But Philadelphia schools is opening ? What’s going on ?

When do kids return back to Philadelphia School from the holiday is it Monday or Tuesday

Children aren’t at risk…. Sooooooo

Sick SOBs

Because contact tracing has found the rate of transmission in schools are exponentially lower. Schools are a safe haven!!!

Great for them

You mean the common cold.

they always doing something dumb

I think that all parents should keep their children home and not sent them in any way the school district is not worrying about their health. Once they see that the attendance is low they were probably changed their mind I would not put my child at risk for them.

Can't continue the school to prison uplone if children are given a real chance at acutal learning, right 🤷‍♀️

Ignore my name but my school almost had 7 covid cases in 1 day and they have the audacity to say go to school

i think that is just wrong. There are students and adults getting sick really fast with this virus going around very quickly and they obviously don’t care about our health and well being!

The big concern is many students are not vaccinated and are not wearing masks. I spend a good chunk of my day reminding students to put their masks on. Guess what. I got Covid. I’ve been sick for the last week

No shit

it’s crazy they don’t see what’s happening in this world. only worried about funding and making kids come to school. what about the students with comprised immune systems. what are y’all gonna do to keep them safe.

What happens when there isn’t enough staff to teach the students. Also Hite said it will be on a school to school decision. When will parents find out?

Wow. ...

The virus 🦠 is a factor but if everyone does what they’re supposed to do the kids should be fine, mask 😷 up and sanitize!!

I definitely agree, this home schooling isn’t working I mean they can learn but not good enough as if they were in a public setting.

In short damned if they do and damned is they don’t. I really need people to really use there heads. Remember immediate closure 2020 and 2021. The havoc, hardship and harsh reality. Some of these staff are not adhering to the masks. It’s more than cleaning

The schools aren't being cleaned the way they need to be cleaned for them to sending children back to school

If you don’t care about the health and safety of our children just say that!🙄 I’m glad my children’s school kept the virtual learning option. My kids will continue learning from home!

Y’all really don’t care about people and it shows.

This is utterly ridiculous!!! Why is Philadelphia so arrogant n ignorant?!?! What is it all about?! Money?!? What are we REALLY talking about?!? Philadelphia officials on any and ALL levels collectively could care LESS what happens to our babies

Stop lying y’all tryna get us sick

No one is sending their kids to them dirty schools that they don’t even clean and never had air in in the first place

I

Jersey went virtual good for them making the right choice

I work in a school and the cases are already on the rise in the buildings this a bad idea truly

That's a horrible idea and the school district should be ashamed of themselves.

They don’t care this world makes no sense or maybe it does it’s design for bullshit

As per John Dewey, these tough times require students to develop coping behaviors, many of which are essential for business success. Why would a responsible party/institution risk the long term cardiac and respiratory health of youth. Dedicated educators will meet the challenge.

Absolutely!!!

These kids about to be sick as shit and bringing that shit back home

Smh. Cases are on the rise again and they don’t want to prevent it? Smh. Go back to virtual learning.

They are 100% wrong! We should take advantage of the Christmas break and extend there social distancing for another two weeks. It can’t hurt! But sending them to school could and will intensify the spread of the corona virus.

werent they just saying more people have been positive for covid.

They don’t care

LIES

Bullshit.

Surging COVID numbers prompt cancellation of in-person library programs, city meetings, but U-46 to resume in-person classes TuesdayGail Borden Public Library has canceled all in-person programs and the city of Elgin is moving council, commission and board meetings online as COVID-19 cases again surge in Kane County, but School District U-46 will not be switching to remote learning when classes resume Tuesday. So U46 and presumably many other school districts have NO approved plan for remote learning should the need arise. What a pathetic lack of planning courtesy of districts with zero administrative backbone. I hope the anti-mask/vax groups are preparing for the inevitable closures.
