The Blades will play the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday before playing the Red Deer Rebels on Friday and Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday as they hope to get it back into top gear during the final stretch prior to the Christmas break.Saskatoon sports a 16-5-0-0 record heading into this week’s Alberta road swing. The Blades are seven points behind Red Deer, with four games in hand, in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference.

Saskatoon sits second in the WHL’s East Division, 12 points back of Winnipeg with four games in hand. Prior to Tuesday’s slate of games, the Blades boasted the No. 2 power play unit in the league at 27.8 proficiency after scoring four power play goals in 10 chances this past weekend.The Blades are back to being nearly fully healthy although forward Josh Pillar was once again sidelined by injury.BLADE BITS: Saskatoon will have eight more games to play prior to the Christmas holiday break before resuming action Dec. 27, at home, against the arch-rival Prince Albert Raiders.
