How a leading healthcare provider created world-class patient experience Sponsored by SAP

The healthcare industry has been under a microscope by public health officials, consumers, media, policymakers, and almost any stakeholder group imaginable over the past few years. New executive orders and policies have been implemented to accelerate the research and treatment of many diseases. Chronic kidney disease is one of them.

“Traditional in-center care is the default choice for most patients, but we have found that home dialysis patients tend to have a better quality of life, see better clinical outcomes, and overall have a lower cost of care,” said Angela McClure, Chief Experience Officer for Fresenius Medical Care North America.

One of the key milestones for patients is 21 days from starting at-home treatment. Angela’s team implemented a touchpoint to ask patients for their feedback about their experience exactly 21 days after they began their dialysis at home. They ask patients about their experience with everything from the dialysis training they received, the dialysis machine, the order and delivery of necessary products, and the support from the clinical care team.
