Our fam of now 4 adults only has one working fulltime now supporting the rest of us who are only able to work some partime hours. Our expenses have increased now that both son's are in college. We have a fraction of the income we had in 2019. We are some of the lucky ones.

Bernie's right! $50k in New England is living on the edge. One problem, car accident, a major illness, (covid, for example), and you're under water. Especially if you have a family! I know its different in TN. Tie the benefit to region. Easy and fair.
Basing it on 2019 income and not taking into consideration each city’s cost of living is senseless. Many making a livable wage in 2019 may now be living in poverty. And someone living in Hawaii making $67,500 in 2019 was considered low income.
