Momeni faces one charge of murder with a special enhancement alleging a knife was used in the crime, the San Francisco Police Department and District Attorney’s Office said in a press conference.
“We can confirm that Mr. Lee and Mr. Momeni knew each other,” Scott said. “However, we can’t at this time comment on the evidence that confirms that information.” The police chief reiterated that he could not comment further and explained that the department wants to be careful not to release any information that will “come back and haunt us or the prosecution of this case.”
Police detained Momeni at his Emeryville residence without incident Thursday morning, and he was taken to the San Francisco County jail, Scott said.
