I want people to respect the opinions and feelings of Black people and allow us to decide what is in our best interest. I talk about the plan to reduce the police budget and reallocate those resources to the African American community, and a large number of non-Blacks reached out to tell me what I should do for the Black community. Then, they say what their community deserves because of their challenges as well. That really bothered me.

Right now, you’re speaking on race and inequality in very direct, powerful terms. And, yet, there were Black Lives Matter protests staged outside your home. What are your thoughts on protesters’ complaints against you? I do, but it doesn’t come from the Black community here though. Because it’s such a small population, but also, I grew up with a lot of these people. It’s not about me doing enough for Black people. It’s about they don’t like me and I’m not doing what they’re telling me to do. The Black mayor is not going to be a slave to nobody. I want to be clear about that. But guess what? We can work together.

LondonBreed Hi, I live in San Francisco, and she absolutely has done neither of these things. She serves her white YIMBY donors and regularly utilizes SFPD as her personal homeless-sweeping concierge service

LondonBreed SanFran was there for one week in 2019 and didn’t see one cop, not even driving by in a cop car. Lots of cars getting broken into and vandalized Take pepper spay if you have to visit.
