Purdy being a finalist for the award might be controversial to some - he started just five regular-season games after all - but the quarterback went 5-0 in those starts to help the 49ers roll into the NFL postseason.He was the No. 262 pick in the 2022 NFL draft, the last person selected, but became the 49ers' starter after injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo.
