SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Humane Society is urging Gov. Newsom to sign Senate Bill 879, which would ban toxicological testing on dogs and cats.

KUSI’s Lauren Phinney was joined by President and CEO of the SD Humane Society, Dr. Gary Weitzman to discuss the bill, and why it is so important. We’re urging Gov Gavin Newsom to sign SB 879 to end unnecessary toxicological testing on dogs and cats. SB 879, written by Sen. Scott Wiener and sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States, will ban needless toxicity testing on dogs and cats.
