Santa Ana winds pushed temperatures into the 90 to 98 degree range in many areas east of Interstate 5 in San Diego County on Thursday in the start of a two-day heat wave, says the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say some areas could get significantly hotter by late in the day, possibly including Oceanside Airport, which has already hit 97. A nearby station reported a high of 98.Here’s a sample of high temperatures at the weather service’s primary and secondary stations, through noon:
