San Antonio Zoo celebrates groundbreaking for new event center

In a press release, the zoo said The Ralston will be able to host a variety of gatherings including galas, fundraisers, weddings, and other celebratory events fostering a sense of togetherness within the community.

"The opening of The Ralston not only signifies a momentous occasion for celebrations but also represents a significant step towards advancing the zoo's mission of inspiring love, engagement, and protection of animals and their habitats,” said co-chair for the Generational Zoo capital campaign, Susan Naylor.

“Shannon’s unwavering commitment to animal conservation is what brought this incredible moment to fruition,” said Morrow. “Her gift, the largest in San Antonio Zoo’s history, is making The Ralston possible, and proceeds from events hosted will help conserve animals in the wild.”KENS 5 has brought numerous firsts to South Texas television, including being the first local station with a helicopter, the first with its own Doppler radar and the first to air a local morning news program.
