The thief took McManus’ ballistic vest from his SUV that was parked outside his Monte Vista home, according to the San Antonio Police Department.A passerby noticed someone in a red hoodie inside the chief’s department-issued Chevrolet Tahoe, and when the burglar saw the person’s headlights, the burglar jumped out of the SUV and fled in another car, police told reporters.
