Victim was 13 when assaults by Ray Tomas Rodriguez-Ortiz began. She was 15 when she told her mother.

A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for sexual assault of a child after a jury convicted him of abusing a teen girl for two year. Ray Tomas Rodriguez-Ortiz , 25, was accused in a six-count indictment. The jury found him guilty of five counts and acquitted him of one count. The assaults began in February 2019, when the girl was 13, according to a statement released late Wednesday by the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.

Jurors agreed on prison terms for each count against Rodriguez-Ortiz on Wednesday — two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, a first-degree felony, and three counts of sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony. In the first count, jurors assessed a 60-year sentence, and on count four, a 20-year sentence, which the judge ordered to run consecutively, for a total of 80 years.
