Samsung partly blamed Vietnam’s virus resurgence for a sharp decline in mobile unit sales. Low vaccination rates are thwarting the region’s recovery and raise questions about how reliable it can be for suppliers shifting out of China: mak_robyn

Samsung Electronics on July 29 reported revenue of 63.7 trillion won for the three months to June 30, an increase of 20% from a year earlier. Operating profit rose 4.4% to 12.6 trillion won.

Revenue at the company's mobile division, which includes smartphones, tablets and wearables, fell 24% quarter-on-quarter, to 21.4 trillion won. Samsung said the decline was partly due to"the component supply shortage and production disruptions at the factory in Vietnam".David S.
