After months of speculation, Samsung has finally formally announced that it is launching a range of TVs that use its new Quantum Dot OLED technology. And I’m happy to say that despite Samsung keeping oddly quiet about them until now , its much-anticipated new models will be launching in the US as early as April.
Surprisingly given Samsung’s previous aversion to regular OLED technology, the new S95B models are being described by Samsung as OLED TVs, rather than QD OLED TVs. And rather than making the big song and dance about them that we might have expected, the brand is keen to talk about them merely as part of a general campaign of ‘giving viewers even more flexibility to choose the technology suited to their needs and preferences’.earlier in the week, be available in just 55 and 65-inch screen sizes.
Also present on the S95Bs will be the 2022 revamp of Samsung’s Tizen smart platform, and support for Object Tracking Sound . The OTS speaker set up should also work handily with the TVs’ built-in Dolby Atmos decoding.
