Despite their rivalry, Sabretooth’s ultimate form seen in Marvel’s Exiles would easily obliterate Wolverine in moments, if necessary. Both feral mutants have maintained a fierce rivalry for years, a bloody history marked by gruesome battles such as the yearly fight commemorating Logan’s birthday. Although that rivalry may differ in other realities, one version of Sabretooth accomplished a new level of power when he was given the Power Cosmic.
In Exiles, a group of characters from alternate timelines are tasked with traveling to other dimensions and helping to repair or prevent instances of great calamity under the impression that they’ll be rewarded by eventually returning to their home dimension. In Exiles #87-88, the Exiles find themselves in a world where Earth has been destroyed, finding the Shi’ar Imperial Guard battling the individual responsible, Norrin Radd.
Sabretooth has proved himself to be a lethal and dangerous combatant, his rugged appearance aligning with his feral nature and impressive powers. As Wolverine’s perpetual nemesis, he’s been portrayed as slightly more powerful than Logan despite their similarities, capable of withstanding brainwashing, dismemberment, and adamantium bonding yet surviving thanks to his mutant healing factor.
In the battle’s aftermath, Victor declined an offer from the revived Galactus to become his new herald, returning the Power Cosmic so he could remain with the Exiles. Although not exempt from animalistic urges or employing lethal measures, this version of Victor Creed showed us a nigh-omnipotent Sabretooth who surpassed his otherworldly nemesis in every way imaginable. Wolverine may claim to be the best there is, but he may not feel the same after a few rounds with this Victor Creed.
