U.S. stocks closed at fresh highs Friday, buoyed by bullish earnings reports and a better-than-expected reading on second-quarter domestic GDP.The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.19% was up about 65 points, or 0.24%, to close around 27,207. Technology heavyweights like Alphabet GOOG, +10.45% and Twitter TWTR, +8.92% were up sharply Friday on solid earnings, while shares of T-Mobile US Inc TMUS, +5.43% and Sprint Corp S, +7.39% surged after the Department of Justice approved their planned merger.
