Days after posting about the Israel - Hamas war on social media, San Antonio Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller removed an unknown number of the comments and the archdiocese that he leads issued a statement saying he regretted how people reacted to them. “The archbishop deeply regrets that posts in recent days on the war in Gaza have caused confusion and misunderstanding in some,” the Archdiocese of San Antonio statement said.

The archdiocese did not make García-Siller available for an interview. In an email following up on the statement, McMorrough told the Express-News the statement is the archdiocesan comment on the matter.
