Russian Brigades Keep Sending Tanks Into The Same Drone Kill Zone Near Donetsk

In the span of just three days starting on Wednesday, drone operators with the Ukrainian 59th Mechanized Brigade knocked out no fewer than four T-72 and T-80 tanks apparently belonging to Ukrainian separatists fighting under Russian command. The open fields and tree-lined roads west of Donetsk, the seat of the separatists Donetsk People’s Republic, for months have been a nightmare landscape for Russian and allied forces.and potentially hundreds of men in repeated frontal assaults across Ukrainian minefields outside Vuhledar, 20 miles north of Nevel's'ke.

The apparently lopsided losses around Nevel's'ke should come as no surprise. The Russian army has deployed a pair of former separatist units in the area: the 9th Marine Brigade and the 110th Motor Rifle Brigade.
