Dmitry Peskov said the visit of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the White House last week is not necessarily a sign of thawing relations between the two countries.

This view was not shared by some American lawmakers, who said the visit was evidence that Trump does not take his role seriously.

Peskov said in an interview broadcast on Russia's Channel One television station:"In terms of bilateral relations we're in such a profound crisis that even the important visit by such a heavyweight minister as Lavrov cannot revise the tendency and change the sign from minus to plus. I don't think there are grounds for any optimism."

"Trump and Putin did have a number of very positive conversations, with very positive and good things said," Peskov said.

John Durham's investigation into the FBI Russia probe comes into focusPresident Trump is already cashing in on suggestions that John Durham's investigation into the FBI Russia probe could reveal damning accusations of bias by law enforcement and intelligence officials that last week's inspector general report debunked The little viewers you have left should finally come to the realization that you think they're the dumbest people on the planet for thinking this is true. Durham is leading a criminal investigation - has nothing to do with mere bias. Incredible what the 'law and order' party has come to. On the plus side a democratic president could come in and do some serious reform with these institutions historically weak and held in poor regard by both parties. CNN cant stop lying.
