A senior Russian official accused the West on Wednesday of ramping up political pressure on Moscow by supplying weapons and ammunition to support Ukraine during a standoff over a Russian military buildup.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and head of delegation Sergey Ryabkov attend a Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons conference in Beijing, China, January 30, 2019.

Countries such as the United States and Britain have supplied military aid to Ukraine that has included anti-tank missiles and launchers to help it defend itself. Others, such as Germany, have sent helmets, shunning lethal aid.Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the military supplies to Ukraine amounted to Western "blackmail and pressure".

Ukraine's desire to move closer to the West politically is widely seen abroad as one of Moscow's main concerns as it seeks security guarantees from the West that would veto Kyiv's accession to NATO and halt the military alliance's expansion.

Russia likes to play the WW2 “victim card”, so good time to remind everyone about the ‘39 Molotov/Ribbentrop Pact, which allowed Russia to partner with the Nazis to steal Poland & begin avidly murdering Polish Army Officers & anyone else they felt like murdering. Some “victim”.

Russia accelerates movement of military hardware towards Ukraine, satellite images showNew satellite imagery obtained by CNN shows that a large base which held Russian tanks, artillery and other armor near the Ukrainian border has been largely emptied, with the equipment apparently being moved much closer to the frontier in recent days. Is this the same satellite that took the picture Iraq's weapon of mass destruction? Is this another one of those Colin Powell situations, where baby milk factories were called WMD manufacturing facilities? A little more than 19 years ago, the US also used satellite imagery as 'evidence' that Saddam's Iraq had WMD. How did that go? More than a million deaths caused by irresponsible use of satellite images to push a narrative. For God's sake NeverAgain!
