Realistically, it’s a move that the Seahawks needed to make. They couldn’t afford to let their franchise player head into the 2019 season in limbo. Prior to adding four years on to his deal, Wilson was set to become a free agent next march. That can now be thrown out the window. Statistically, Wilson has been a phenomenon. Last season alone, he completed nearly 66 percent of his passes for 3,448 yards with 35 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions. In seven seasons, he’s tallied 212 total touchdowns compared to 63 interceptions.
