A sharp decline of tourist numbers at royal residences across the country due to COVID-19 will see the queen lose over $6.3 million a year for at least the next three years, scobie reports.

, which reveals how the monarchy spends the allowance given to them by the Treasury for official expenditure. The public allowance is made up of profits from the Crown Estate property empire and British taxpayer contributions. .

Also featured in the annual report a further $762,000 spend for the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester to renovate their new home—bringing the latest total for modernizing the Old Stables at Kensington Palace to an eye-watering $1.3 million. The couple, who are 27th in line to the throne, are currently in the process of moving 350-meters from their Apartment 1 home to a smaller property on the estate.

Palace aides also outlined the travel costs for Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s 14-flight tour of Southern Africa, which totaled $312,000 . The 10-day visit, their last as senior working royals, saw the couple represent the Queen and Prince Harry join efforts to recruit Angola to the Commonwealth. As the report only covers accounts up until March 31, the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ recent repayment for renovating their U.K. home Frogmore Cottage won’t be reflected until next year’s statement.

In response to financial losses, a number of changes have been made within the institution of the monarchy, including a recruitment freeze and pay freezes, though staff have not been furloughed. They will also naturally save money on the official travel bill as the country continues to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. scobie They need to cut back on all that staff and start doing shit themselves doesn’t Charles have a huge staff that probably includes someone to wipe his arse seriously this is ridiculous that could significantly cut cost of just they’re day to day living people are starving FFS😡

scobie 🤔💭 I guess the remaining BRF members living in 🇬🇧 will realize how irrelevant they are 😏

scobie

RAnnie2021 scobie Not only because of COVID. The world has been watching. They see the way Meghan/Sussexes were treated. If they can do that to Royals, how will the country treat “normal” POC. I have visited the UK & intended to return. But, will not for that very reason.

scobie Oh no, how ever will they manage. 🥺🙄

scobie bummerrrrrrr

scobie Without Harry Meghan Archie in UK.... the decline in tourist is only going to be deeper because the Sussexes brings tourist all over the world... but now people are headed Santa Barbara🤷🏻‍♀️ me and family planning a trip there next year🤞

scobie A Decline in tourist number is not just bc of C.19. But the Uk and The Royal Family is no longer appealing to the rest of the World

scobie Share widely.

scobie No Meghan and Harry, Mmm bye UK 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻💁🏻‍♂️

It's ok, she can still go to Whole Foods😑

scobie Maybe she can sell the solid gold piano

scobie Lovely picture, without MM

scobie They are not doing tours or anything else, so what do they spend all the money on? I would be pissed if I had to dig a little deeper for them😬 Honestly they look greedy to me🤷‍♀️

scobie Maybe people stopped coming because Harry and Meghan left.

scobie I doubt she will lose one of her many homes and worry about her financial situation . She never had to

InvictusbyPepp scobie Oh no. One of the world's wealthiest women might lose some revenue in the downturn. Boo-effing-hoo.

scobie No wonder Harry and Meghan left. No fancy tours, they were doomed to cut ribbons in the home counties.

scobie They can always borrow from M&H 😉

scobie This pandemic has really hurt everyone. Perhaps the Queen should sell some properties or auction off her gold piano?

scobie thank goodness she is one of the richest women in the world with a deep financial reservoir

scobie Ohhhh ok
