COURTESY: Jamie White April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month , and while organizations like Triple AAA and the TxDOT are campaigning for drivers to keep their eyes on the road, one Round Rock mom is going a different route by sharing how a distracted driver impacted her own life."It shattered our lives," White said. "It changed the course of our life.
Motivated to act, Jamie turned her grief into something positive, starting the advocacy non-profit Allie's Way. "We see it every day on our roads, we see it in our school zones," White said. "so we really need to be reminded that we need to put the phone down, especially in school zones, because it happens in a second."
Allie's Way has been busy this month, from a NASCAR race in Fort Worth last Friday, to a TxDOT Banquet in Tyler on Tuesday. Jamie is also traveling to speak with schools as far south as the border.
