I watched Celine Dion sing a popular Chinese song in Mandarin on Chinese TV's 2013 New Year's special. Her pronunciation was fairly good for the 1st verse but then deteriorated rapidly. I guess she hadn't had time to prepare the entire song. Still, the audience cheered wildly.

The only explanation I can think of for her omission is that all the Judges were from the deaf society. She has in my opinion the strongest natural vocals that would put her in the top five. Elvis would have to be there as would Tina Arena & for sexual vocals, Kylie Minogue rules
