"It's been pretty inconvenient, especially not knowing how long it's going to last," said Emily Corbett, a city resident who stopped by the Frederick Douglass R-Center on South Avenue. "We have some grab-and-go’s, some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and we also have some tacos for them as well," said Eric Kittles, the community center manager at the David F. Gantt R-Center. "So, we are providing some meals for them so they definitely do not go hungry. R-centers are stakeholders in our community, and we need to be ready when our community needs us."
Swiftwater Brewing on Mount Hope Avenue offered free boiled water on tap Wednesday night around the back of the brewery."We only used about 30 gallons throughout the building last night," said Andrew Cook, owner and manager of Swiftwater Brewery. "So, we should have more than enough for ourselves her, and if people start coming out in droves and we need to refill the tank, we'll just refill the tank.
