Several Rochester General Hospital nurses were honored during a ceremony held Friday, May 10, 2024, in honor of National Nurses Week .
Rochester, N.Y. — Several of them were recognized for going above and beyond, and were nominated by their colleagues and supervisors to receive patient care service awards. "We love our nurses. They are the backbone of our hospital," said Tammy Snyder, president and COO at RGH. "They are the largest component of our labor force here, and so important to us. We really feel like taking a week to recognize them and thank them for all of their selfless care is very important. We would love our community to do the same, so when you see a nurse out and about, please thank them for their service.
Friday's ceremony was part of National Nurses Week, which ends this Sunday on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
