Robby Snelling strong in Missions loss; El Paso's Jackson Wolf hit hard

Robby Snelling is settling in nicely in his second season at Double-A San Antonio. The 20-year-old left-hander struck out six over five strong innings in the Missions’ 4-2 loss at home against Northwest Arkansas. Snelling allowed one run on three hits and a walk. Through nine innings , Snelling has 10 strikeouts against four walks. He has allowed one home run after allowing four in 103 innings last year as the Padres’ minor league pitcher of the year.

Sacramento 9, Chihuahuas 2: LHP Jackson Wolf allowed five runs on four hits and four walks in three innings in the loss. RHP Kevin Kopps struck out three over two shutout innings. 1B Matthew Batten went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. 3B Graham Pauley went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. Lake County 7, TinCaps 6: LHP Jagger Haynes recorded just one out while allowing four runs on two hits and four walks. LHP Miguel Cienfuegos allowed three unearned runs in four innings in relief to take the loss. RF Kai Murphy went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, three walks and a run scored. CF Tyler Robertson and SS Jarryd Dale both had two hits. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE Modesto 4, Storm 3: SS Rosman Verdugo went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk and a run scored.
