Richard B. Riddick is one of the most fascinating characters in science fiction, and now a Predator theory has connected Riddick to one classic franchise. Riddick was first introduced in Pitch Black as an antihero with luminescent eyes that gave him superior night vision, and in its sequel The Chronicles of Riddick, it was revealed that he was a member of the Furyian race, hypertrophied humans whose incredibly harsh home planet turned them into super warriors.
Given their cloaking abilities and reputation as hunters who stalk their prey, a Predator would have had its reasons to reveal itself to Riddick. It might have decided that Riddick had potential, particularly if one such as the Lord Marshal was seeking to terminate him. It might have also been curious about the Furyan species, and wanted to gauge whether they would make competent prey one day.
