Richardson ISD announced that nine high school students in the district were named National Merit semifinalists.

They are Isabelle Mervicker, Eben Pollack and Abigail Smith of Berkner High School; Elizabeth Craig, Bella Evans, Tanner Kopel and Nicholas Mukherjee of Pearce High School; and Kimberly Donovan and Camryn Dyke of Richardson High School, according to the district.

The achievement places them among 16,000 national semifinalists, a group representing fewer than one percent of all high school seniors nationwide. High school students enter the program by taking the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.Scholarship money will be awarded in the spring.
