Rey needs to be more than just a Jedi Master.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Star Wars: New Jedi Order needs to ensure that Rey’s characterization doesn’t suffer from the same problems as Luke Skywalker did during the Star Wars sequel trilogy. New Jedi Order, which will see Rey Skywalker as a Jedi Master roughly 15 years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is a turning point for the Star Wars franchise.

You can find out more about Luke's relationship with Ben Solo in the Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren comic miniseries. Star Wars has forgotten that, though. Luke may have become more solemn, wise, and mature as a result of his Jedi training, but he never should have lost sight of those who mattered to him most. There were glimpses of his love for Leia, Han, and even Ben in the sequel trilogy, like when he spoke to Leia on Crait in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and when he asked about Han when Rey and Chewie arrived on Ahch-To, but it just wasn’t the same.

Luke Skywalker The son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, Luke was brought up on the desert planet Tatooine. Initially mentored by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke fired the fateful shot that destroyed the Death Star, and he became a rebel hero. Despite the fears of Obi-Wan and Yoda, Luke's faith in his father was proved well-founded when Vader returned to the light.

Her bond with Han and Chewie, her deep friendship with Finn, the way she became close to Luke and Leia, her playful banter with Poe, and her innate belief in Kylo Ren’s light made her a better person and thus a better Jedi. During the prequel era, the Jedi were so afraid of having relationships because they feared grief, jealousy, and anger, but not all relationships evoke those feelings. Rey is the ultimate proof of that.
