Retiring therapy dog Tassy was applauded by staff at the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, California on Wednesday. In a press release, the center said 12-year-old Tassy had been volunteering with them for more than eight years.

Last week, a California Medical Center held a heartwarming sendoff for the retirement of one of its long-time therapy dogs, Tassy.

"Over that time, Tassy's gentle nature has brought joy and solace to so many," said the center in the post."Although Geri will continue as a volunteer with us, 12-year-old Tassy will be enjoying the sweet peace of retirement at home."Azavedo was given a"Thank you, Tassy" banner that included a photo of the pair as well as kind messages from the staff at Doctors Medical.
