Nearly 100 fire crew members are battling a 2-alarm fire on Ridge Avenue in North Philly Monday afternoon.
The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to the fire at 3:52 p.m., at a three-story structure along the 1600 block of Ridge Ave., according to officials.Assistant Deputy Director Derek Bowmer said people were evacuated from the building the fire is at and the building next to it. There were about 20 people displaced due to the fire and he said no one injured.
At around 7:30 p.m. the PFD said the fire was under control. It doesn’t mean they put the fire out it just means they know where the flames are coming from and now they are able to control it.SkyForce10 was over the scene. Firefighters could be seen fighting the fire from the front and the back of the building.The PFD asked people to avoid the area to allow them access to put the fire out.
