In the article, AOC is described as having 'populist' ideas. I wouldn't know why. Her views on taxes, for one, are in line with those of the most respected public finance experts, including a Nobel laureate. No one would call Peter Diamond a populist. See:

Nothing against her, she is an idealist and perhaps naive (although I think her gaffes are no worse than what you get from your average politician) but she is a first-time junior senator, she is getting way too much press relative to the importance of her post.
