Erasing them? First, the question doesn’t ask about heritage, only citizenship; second, not being a citizen doesn’t necessarily mean they’re illegal; and third, illegals probably won’t answer the census anyway, so it’s really sort of irrelevant. Unnecessary question, but still...

While I don't support the question of citizenship on the census - I think saying it is trying to erase the existence of Hispanics is a little much. Going that far out on the limb may give him cheers in parts of the Bay Area but otherwise does nothing to help advance the fight.
