These are elected officials. Outside of doing the task they were elected for. they are subject to the same laws as all Americans. Yes the Capital police has a problem their control needs to be turn over to a Law enforcement branch of government. Security is not political.

Members of Congress who bypass metal detectors should be arrested for violating safety protocols. To safely do the work of governance & ensure the safety of representatives, senators & their staffers is of greater importance than the vapid & feckless symbolic gestures of fools.
Any Republicans that refuses to go through the metal detectors should not be allowed in.
