Human remains discovered by a hiker at a lakeside campground in Tahoe National Forest last month were recently identified by police as a Northern California man who was reported missing in early November, according to aTyler Love, 44, of Grass Valley, was reported missing to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 2 by a friend who said that he was last seen at the end of September 2021, a spokesperson for the department told SFGATE.
The office filed a missing persons report and submitted his information in the Missing and Unidentified Persons System through the, in addition to issuing a “be on the lookout” advisory for Love, the spokesperson said. His skeletal remains were found by the hiker just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 21, near Dark Day Campground at New Bullards Bar Reservoir in Comptonville. The hiker called 911, and when responding police confirmed the remains were human, detectives were called to the scene to conduct a coroner’s investigation, the Yuba County Sheriff's Department said.
